10 Things I Hate About You is a teen romantic comedy film based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.
Mini Plot Summary
Social reject Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and high school hottie Joey (Andrew Keegan) both want to date Bianca Strafford (Larisa Oleynik). Bianca doesn't care that her sister Kat (Julia Stiles), is disliked by classmates at their high school, and doesn't have a date to prom. However, their father (Larry Miller) has decreed that Bianca is not allowed to date until Kat does. Knowing Bianca's father's rule, both Cameron and Joey pay outcast Patrick (Heath Ledger) to date Kat. A Shakespearian comedy of errors ensue.
